First World Problems

There is no doubt that remodeling is a First World Problem. For those not familiar with the term, take a look a look at the above link. Twitter also has some good examples. An example is "I'm not sure what order to show the Star Wars movies to my children". We have an internal site at work where people post their own first world problems. Most are along the lines "My 30" monitor blocks my view of the mountains". or "The microkitchen was out of reese's pieces, so I had to choose between m&m's or peanut m&m's". It's a tough life, no doubt.

So in the spirit of that, here's some of the first world problems we've encountered remodeling:

The microwave is too high.

The color selection for epoxy grout is just too limited.

We had to buy 6 samples of paint for the master bathroom before we found one we liked.

The IKEA vanity won't mount to a wall framed with studs 16" on center.

The bathroom tile doesn't look as white as it did in the store.

The lighting store gave us the wrong light.

And so on and so forth...

Things are all coming together, and we're planning on moving Saturday, September 17th. This week they are putting the finishing touches on most everything inside...Painting is almost all done, and the grout will be done by tomorrow. All the plumbing fixtures should be installed, then next week the floors will be refinished.

Outside they've started work on the deck, and there are a few other small things that need to be done.
